Manglik Matching, or Mangal Dosha matching, is the part of kundli milan that checks Mars (Mangal) in both partners’ charts before marriage. A person is Manglik when Mars sits in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house from the Lagna, Moon or Venus. Because Mars is fiery and assertive, tradition holds that a Manglik and a non-Manglik pairing needs extra care, while two Manglik partners balance each other out — their doshas are said to cancel. Why One-Manglik Matches Are Usually Fine
The single most feared line in Indian matchmaking is "one of them is Manglik." In reality, this verdict calls for a careful look, not panic. Mangal Dosha has many recognised cancellations, and the majority of one-Manglik matches turn out to be mild or fully cancelled once the whole chart is read. Mars in its own or exalted sign, benefic aspects, certain signs in the Manglik houses, and a range of classical combinations all soften or remove the dosha. Even where a genuine dosha remains, simple remedies are available. The old advice to match a Manglik only with another Manglik still holds as a safe default — but it is far from the only path to a happy marriage.
