Manglik Dosha, also called Mangal Dosha or Kuja Dosha, is one of the most asked-about points in Vedic astrology for marriage. A person is Manglik when Mars (Mangal) sits in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house of the birth chart. Because Mars is a fiery, aggressive planet, its placement in these houses is said to affect harmony, temperament and timing in marriage. A proper check does not look only from the Ascendant — it examines Mars from three reference points: the Lagna (Ascendant), the Moon and Venus. Why the 3-Point Manglik Check Matters
Many free Manglik calculators only look at Mars from the Ascendant and stop there — which often gives a scary but incomplete answer. The traditional method checks Mars from three reference points: the Lagna (Ascendant), the Moon (Chandra) and Venus (Shukra). A person is only strongly Manglik if Mars sits in a Manglik house from more than one of these. Checking all three gives a far more honest and accurate result, and explains why so many people who fear they are "highly Manglik" are actually only mildly affected or not affected at all.

Jupiter or the Moon aspecting or joining Mars softens it.

Remedies for Manglik Dosha
If your chart shows a genuine, uncancelled Mangal Dosha, traditional remedies can help. The most common is devotion to Hanuman — reciting the Hanuman Chalisa, visiting a Hanuman temple on Tuesdays, and fasting on that day. Offering red items and donating to the needy on Tuesdays is also advised. In some traditions a Kumbh Vivah (a symbolic marriage) is performed before the actual wedding. Remember that remedies work alongside a proper reading — and that a mild or cancelled dosha usually needs no fear at all.
